Arsenal FC
Formed in 1886 as Woolwich Arsenal in south-east London, Arsenal were the first team from the south to join the Football League when they joined in 1893. By 1913 the club had moved to north London tipping up at Highbury. After guiding Huddersfield Town to an FA Cup win in 1922 and the first two of three consecutive league titles in 1923-24 and 1924-25, Herbert Chapman was tempted south to Arsenal, where he set up what was arguably the first dynasty in English Football. The previously trophyless Gunners were to win 5 League Titles in the 1930's and two FA Cups. Unfortunately Chapman died in 1934, thus for the second time missing out on being the first manager to manage a team to 3 consecutive League Titles.
There then followed a further fallow period for Arsenal as the 1947-48 League Championship and 1950 FA Cup apart, Arsenal had to wait until the 1970-71 season for perhaps their finest hour as they became only the third team to win the League and FA Cup Double.
