1901-1922

This period saw some of the big hitters of FA Cup history enter their names on the Cup for the first time.

In 1909 we saw Manchester United's first win, whilst earlier in that decade both Everton and Manchester City recorded their first victories.  1901's first time winners were Spurs - the only non-league team to have ever won the FA Cup.

1903 saw Bury win the Cup for the second time.  In beating Derby County 6-0 at Crystal Palace they set the record, which still stands, for the largest winning margin in an FA Cup Final.

After settling on Crystal Palace as the venue for the Final in 1895, every final in this period except 1915 (Old Trafford) and 1920-1922 (Stamford Bridge) was held there.  Replays were usually played elsewhere; in 1901 (Burnden Park); 1910 (Goodison Park); 1911 (Old Trafford) and 1912 (Bramall Lane).  The 1902 replay was held at Crystal Palace.
