Manchester United in the FA Cup
Manchester United holds the record for the most FA Cup wins with eleven. The first win came in 1909 over Bristol City by a score of 1-0. Included in the United team was the great Billy Meredith, who had scored the only goal in Manchester City's win in 1904. The goalscorer against Bristol City, Sandy Turnbull was also a member of City's 1904 winning team.
Subsequent wins for United have been against, Blackpool (1948), Leicester City (1963), Liverpool (1977), Brighton and Hove Albion (1983), Everton (1985), Crystal Palace (1990), Newcastle United (1994 - United's first double season), Liverpool (1996 - another double), Newcastle Utd (1999 - in United's treble season) and finally (for now), Milwall were the losers in 2004. United have been runners up 7 times in the FA Cup.
