Uruguay 1-0 Mexico

Were they really that good, or was it the fact that France and South Africa were so poor that made Uruguay such comfortable winners of this group? In Diego Forlan they have a striker of real quality who can lead the line and get those all important goals. And, and, and this win means that they don't have to face their neighbours in the Round of 16. No, that dubious distinction goes to Mexico in what will be a repeat of their encounter at the same stage last time.  That was an epic struggle, with Mexico going ahead with a great goal from Rafael Márquez after just 6 minutes. Four minutes later and Hernán Crespo had made it 1-1 and there it stayed until Maxi Rodriguez notched the winner after 8 minutes of extra time had been played. Fingers crossed that we get something similar this time around.
