Cameroon 1-2 Denmark

By now I was at the wedding, so I didn't see that much at all of this - though I did see Dennis Rommedahl's winner on the hour mark. It was almost romantic, as I peered at the TV across the dance floor. Does that paint a picture for you? Anyway, by this stage both teams had scored, Nicklas Bendtner answering the tenth minute opener from Samuel Eto'o. It was, by all accounts, a very good game - end to end stuff, and Cameroon became the first team eliminated from the World Cup.

If their first game against Japan had been a disappointing start to their campaign then at least Cameroon went out with all guns blazing here. If their sights had been in then we would not be saying good bye to them just yet as they missed numerous chances both before and after the Danes had gone ahead. For Denmark, they now have a winner takes all game with Japan to play next Wednesday. They know that they must win as a draw will favour Japan due to their superior goal difference.
