Brazil 1-2 Netherlands

Sorry chaps, but I missed this - bloody stupid time to show a World Cup Quarter Final which promised as much as this one did. Why couldn't they have both pairs of games at the weekend instead of two on Friday with the other two to follow on Saturday? I did pop in to catch the Brazilian goal, a great finish from Robinho following a defence splitting pass from Felipe Melo - not his last contribution it has to be said. They then missed a succession of glorious chances before Wesley Sneijder's left footed cross from the right wing on 53 minutes eluded everybody and everything except Melo's head before ending up in the back of the net. A quarter of an hour later and the Dutch were in front, this time with Sneijder getting on the end of Kuyt's flick from Robben's right wing corner. Melo's afternoon was finished early on 73 minutes after a dreadful stamp on Arjen Robben. On the one hand, it was Robben on whom he stamped, but you can't go round doing that sort of thing and possibly hope to stay on the pitch. No matter, the Orange party moves on to Cape Town next.
